New Office Projects
New five-story office building on Main and Jefferson.
A five-story, $10M office building project moves forward in downtown South Bend. The new building will give the city something it hasn’t seen in decades. The lot has been vacant for years and last housed a fast food restaurant. The level of investment will be between $9 and $10 million and by the time the design stage runs its course, the building could end up being six stories tall.
Work is underway on Phase II of Eddy Street Commons.
Work is underway on Phase II of Eddy Street Commons, the $90 million mixed-use project south of the University of Notre Dame. The project features 8,500 square feet of restaurant space, 17 “flex” units, 433 apartment units, 22 single-family homes, a new Robinson Community Learning Center and a stand-alone grocery store. In response to requests from residents and business owners for more local business offerings in Phase II, the buildings closest to Napoleon will feature 17 “flex” units — modest street-level units that can be adapted for commercial or residential use depending on demand.
